Death on Wheels

Death on Wheels

Yesterday I met a man who told a most unlikely tale. He spoke of a great vehicle, pulled through the landscape by huge lizard-like beasts, that the desert people use as a prison of sorts for their worst offenders. The lucky ones, he said, are sold into slavery. The rest are summarily and very publicly executed; crushed by a large device in the shape of a great skull, no less.

I asked him how he knew of such a ghastly thing, but he would not say. In fact, the question seemed to make him quite uncomfortable.
