How to use a downloaded hideout

1Download the .hideout file from a hideout page.
2Open Path of Exile and go to your hideout.
3Make sure the correct hideout base is active. In Path of Exile 1 you can change your hideout base through Helena; in Path of Exile 2 you can change it by talking to Alva.
4Open the bottom-right hideout menu and choose Import.
5Select the downloaded .hideout file and confirm the import.

What is a .hideout file?

1A .hideout file stores the layout and decoration placement of a hideout.
2It does not include paid microtransactions you do not own.
3If a hideout requires MTX, you may need those decorations on your account.

What does Hideout Base mean?

1The base is the actual Path of Exile hideout template used by the design.
2Examples include Coastal Hideout, Celestial Hideout and Twisted Hideout.
3Filtering by base helps you find designs that work with hideouts you own or can select in-game.

Tips for uploading your own hideout

1Use clear screenshots that show the atmosphere and layout.
2Choose the correct hideout base so players can find compatible designs.
3Select the correct hideout music if you used a specific track in-game.
4Mark MTX honestly, especially if the design relies on paid decorations.
5Write a short description explaining the atmosphere or intended use.

Make your upload stand out

A good cover image, a correct base, and honest MTX labeling help players trust your upload. Creator profiles grow faster when the content is easy to understand.
